Terry Miles

Stoke-on-Trent born Terry signed for the Vale in 1955 and within a couple of seasons he became a first team regular at left wing half, missing only one game in the 1958-59 Fourth Division title winning season.

Known for his physical presence, Terry could also play skilfully and during the 60’s he formed a long standing and successful playing relationship with fellow half back and former schoolboy classmate Harry Poole.

Terry was also the first ever playing substitute for the Vale in a game against Stockport County in 1965.

He left the vale in 1968 after making over 400 appearances for the club and enjoyed a joint testimonial game together with his long-time pal Harry Poole.  They both departed the Vale at the same time and continued to play together again for local non-league side Sandbach Ramblers.

A Port Vale fan, Terry also assisted with coaching youngsters at the club for a time.
